Privacy Policy

How Hitotoki Mail uses information and the choices available to you.

Last updated:

1. Information we process and why

We process temporary addresses, inbox access information, and received messages (including sender, subject, content, and receipt time) to provide the email service. Messages may contain personal information supplied by their senders.

Browser identifiers and visit records support usage statistics. IP addresses, access records, and browser information support security and troubleshooting. Contact details and inquiry messages are used to respond to requests. A temporary address does not guarantee anonymity.

2. Retention and deletion

Expired inboxes are removed through regular cleanup; changing an address deletes its messages. Electronic records are deleted from the active service, but this does not remove copies held by senders or external providers. Browser data can be cleared in browser settings.

InformationRetention
Temporary inboxes and messages60 minutes initially, or the extended lifetime; deleted after expiry or when you change your address.
Visitor identifiers and statisticsRetained until deleted by the administrator; no automatic deletion period is currently set.
Access logsNormally about two weeks of archives plus the current log.
Security and diagnostic recordsRequest counters expire after their limit windows; diagnostic logs are retained within system storage limits, without a fixed period.
InquiriesRetained in the contact mailbox until deleted; no automatic deletion period is currently set.

3. External providers and overseas processing

The service uses the providers below for email delivery, hosting, advertising, and inquiries. The application and mail database are hosted in Japan. These providers may also process information in other countries. Their privacy policies explain how they handle information.

Loading external content within messages may also send connection information to the content provider. We do not sell inbox contents to advertisers.

ProviderRole and information handled
CloudflareInbound email delivery and processing: temporary addresses and incoming messages.
Oracle Cloud InfrastructureHosting in Japan: inboxes, messages, usage and operational records.
GoogleAdSense: advertising and connection data; Gmail: contact details and inquiry messages.

4. Cookies and advertising

Cookies and browser storage support inbox access, language preferences, visitor counting, and faster display. Access cookies may last up to 24 hours without extending the inbox lifetime; language and visitor cookies may last up to one year. Cached messages and images are reused while the inbox is valid, including after a page refresh. Other browser data remains until its session ends or you clear it, depending on the storage used. You can block or delete it in browser settings, which may affect service functions.

Google and other advertising vendors may use cookies or similar technology to serve ads based on visits to this and other sites. Advertising requests may include your IP address and the page URL. You can manage personalized advertising using the tools below; advertising data is retained according to each provider's policy.

5. Your rights

You or an authorized representative may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, withdrawal of consent, or other rights available under applicable law. Change your address to delete its messages, or select Contact at the bottom of the page to send other requests to the administrator. We may verify your authority using only necessary information and will respond without undue delay, explaining any lawful restriction.

Clearing browser data alone does not delete server records. To protect your information, do not send passwords, verification codes, or sensitive message contents with a request.

6. Protecting information

We use encrypted connections, access controls, and measures against abuse to protect information. No online service can guarantee absolute security; avoid receiving sensitive personal or financial information in a temporary inbox.

7. Privacy contact and policy changes

The Hitotoki Mail administrator handles privacy matters and requests. Select Contact at the bottom of the page to view the contact details. Changes to this policy are published here with an updated date; material changes will be announced in advance where required by law.
